#promotion Today I’m showing you four main hosting options for web developer projects. Whether you’re needing to deploy your own freelance site for your business or get a client set up with an application ASAP, the world of hosting can be overwhelming…There are just so many options — which one is the optimal solution?

The options I discuss are:

1. Shared
2. VPS
3. Dedicated Server
4. Cloud

There are two “flavors” we also discuss in with option #4 (cloud hosting). You can go direct to the source, such as AWS (Amazon’s cloud) OR you can opt for a managed hosting solution.

While you are given utmost control when you opt to deal with the cloud directly, there are hundreds of options and to do something as simple as downloading your source code can end up being a huge event.

Also, the more moving parts there are, the bigger possibility that something will break and the YOU are left with that liability. That can take hours and even days to fix, costing you valuable dev time. That’s where managed hosting comes in.

It simplifies your interaction with the cloud so you have more time to do your job as a developer. I also go in depth to show you how beneficial managed hosting can be with a promising newcomer to the scene, Turbo360 and its sister site, Vertex360. Turbo offers a free tier that includes partial access to high-quality coding tutorials.

Great breakdown of the different options for hosting. Digital ocean and Vultr are great options for cloud hosting for large apps. Netlify is fantastic for static sites, it has form processing, lambda functions, etc.

This is the BEST explanation I've ever received on the topic of Hosting. I've never heard specific/finite use cases for each platform before. Very useful, especially the parts about managed Cloud. Familiar with Heroku, Digital Ocean, Google's Cloud option, and took a peek at Amazon.

Shout to Turbo 360! The lead Developer and owner is very talented. He's what you'd expect from a very "no nonsense" Senior Tech Lead. His advice videos are golden, and the new customer interface looks very interesting.
