Aegis Vanguard Hoplite – "First Look" Star Citizen 3.6

I do not recommend. I had a very bad experience with #bluehost. Very nice environment and nice support, but if you have a bit more traffic or database activity, they will kick you out as they did it with me. Does not matter if you are “green” in all meters they are presenting you in the control panel. I was forced to migrate my website after get the “get out” message and it took me more than a week to put my website back online.

Welcome to #AStarCitizensFirstLook What’s up Citizens, this is SubliminaL here and today, you will see my first impressions of the #AegisVanguardHoplite. The #StarCitizen 3.6 PTU is now available to subscribers and concierge. In this first look, we’ll take a look at the exterior, tour the interior, and take it for a brief test flight. This video is a “First Look”, my Full Review of the Vanguard Hoplite with accurate information will be released at a later date. With that out of the way, let’s take a first look at the Aegis Vanguard Hoplite.

What are your thoughts on the New Vanguard Hoplite?

Super cool ship. I like to fly Vanguards in the current PU/PTU because they are a good mix of fast QD and good in atmo. Great for the current delivery missions.

I don't own any Vanguards but like all of your Star Citizen videos. Always very informative, excellent breakdowns, and good visual shots of the interiors & exteriors.

Can you make a video on the Freelancers in 3.6 I want to know how the landing gear work with the rotating wings, do the wings rotate down in hover mode then go back in place when you put the gear down this has to be how it works now.

Might need to add the vanguard to my fleet.

Me personally I want the saber raven. (it's a little like the F-14 tomcat.)

Looks pretty good, I’m still excited for the Harbinger’s railgun (whenever it’s ready)

Great video! Very interesting and I watched the whole thing. I bought a Hoplite LTI when it went on sale a while back just because it was a cheaper Vanguard and because of the Aliens Dropship vibe. I bought one even though by that point CIG has said the Hoplite was nothing like the Vanguard and would never be. I kept it anyway as I loved the cockpit and those twin tails just look awesome. Not to mention the chain gun of death on the front. Hope it holds that I I'll be able to put a bed in the cabin. It would make a great mission ship, easy to log in and out.

It seems like the Valkyrie is for dropping normal grunts and large scale invasion, while the Hoplite is more of a hot zone spec ups dropship

I like it, i want one before moving up to a prowler.
Please can you do a walk through of the interior with the ship power on, it should (does with other ships) turn on interior lights.

not so sure about the glowing intakes. i mean why are they glowing when the engines are off? why are they glowing in the first place?

With stealth components intended to use well as a black ops drop ship. I love it.

Why are everyone "complining" about the Frontside of the turbines not lighting up? have you ever seen a boing plane with LED lighted turbine engines? no i dont think so. it's moving parts in a very complex part of a machine… it hold the nessesities and isnt anything for show…

Have you considered doing one of your review or first looks at some of the rarer ships? The Sabre Raven for example

Gorgeous video, awesome intro effects, misspelled "Vangaurd". 0:10 xD xD
(a true test of a youtubers perfectionism over self-control, will he delete and re-upload a fixed version?)

I love that you did this video in the actual verse. I hate when otherwise great youtubers do ALL their ship videos in the bloody hangars. The hangars are a TERRIBLE place to do ship videos, because first of all they do all their interior recording when the ship is powered OFF and pitch black, secondly the ships spawn in damage state in the hangar module and the lighting sucks compared to the sun-lit "real" verse. So great thanks to you for taking the extra 5min effort 🙂

Thanks for the first look. Seriously considering getting a Hopolite now that I know for sure BUKs are back in.

Nice overview! One thing about the Vanguards that a lot of people seem to overlook is the fact that if you buy one you're essentially buying the ability to "upgrade" to each of the others in the future. Eventually, a Hoplite owner will have the option of buying the necessary components to convert their ship into, say, a Sentinel or a Harbinger. Aside from the overlooked utility of long range flight, the Vanguards have the ridiculous value of being able to hot-swap into another ship for very cheap (compared to having to outright buy another ship to fit the desired role).

    Posted at 20:13h, 07 July

What is the purpose of a drop-ship even supposed to be when the game comes out? Can't you just do the job of these ships in anything else?

  • SamanthaGlume
    Posted at 22:04h, 07 July

If you power up the ship the inside lights will come on. Then we can actually see the ship…

Thank you for all your information on various ships in the verse they are awesome and I appreciate them. Is it possible if you can do a buyer's guide on the Anvil Gladiator I believe this is a ship that most people look over but I believe it's a hidden gem with a lot of combat capabilities.

The Warden and the Hoplite are great ships, but I'm waiting for the Harbinger. Still, I'd be happy to also acquire a Hoplite, because drop ship operations have the potential to be a helluva lot of fun.
The design feature I find the most impressive – and it's across all the variants, afaik – is the gantry behind the pilot's chair that gives access to all of the components. When component interaction reaches its full potential, this design aspect will make the Vanguards one of the easiest ships to tweak and repair.

Great review. I like it but think I will get the Warden instead.
