ArmA 3 – How To Host A Game Online. How To Correctly Port Forward

Beezy , – #Justhost screwed the pooch – I purchased a domain with them last year and added “domain privacy” since I didn’t want my personal contact info published. Sometime later I received a letter saying my specified domain was about to expire and gave me options to extend it for a low price. I almost responded to the letter before realizing it was a scam from a third party. How did this third party get my info? #Justhost published it all in the domain registry, even though I paid for privacy. I eventually had to install call blocking software and send every unknown/hidden call straight to voicemail, and google the numbers later. #Justhost made it difficult to cancel and get a refund, and they only gave a refund minus the registration fee. Because the site has not been reregistered, my info is still mirrored on other sites. #Justhost has refused to re-register the site themselves with anonymized info. I would not want to repeat this experience again.

To anyone thats having a lot of problems with this, I really recommend downloading Tunngle. Its a free software that creates an IP Address for you and allows you to host or enter games with friends. I've been using it for years and its stopped me from having to port-forward for the longest time. The first install of the game does require you to restart your computer, just as a heads up! You can look up a small tutorial to use it, or you can just join any open lobby in the Tunngle software with a friend, copy their address, and voila! You can now join them in any game! Although I dont believe this works with servers that you have to use a command prompt to open… Haven't tested that though!

Anyone know about setting up a portforward ona BAUDTEC-RN243R4 Router? There's no info bout it in the website given in the video. Though it has UPNP enabled. That still allows me to host "Internet" games in Arma, is that enough?

Would it be possible to change the static ip back to dynamic with the program portforwarding.com gives? Or do you have to do it manually?

A few years back BIS added the simplified process using UPnP – literally a checkbox in the server launcher in game (listen not dedicated) which assuming your router handles UPnP and UPnP is enabled on the router – the server launcher will automatically setup all port forwarding for you. Simple as that.

I can't use port forwarding on my router since I can only add IPv6 rules and not IPv4 as stated in the tutorial rip
