ASUS Eee PC T101MT – OS and RAM Upgrade Tutorial

John LaFosse , Jay, Maine – The worst hosting provider, I’ve ever dealt with. – I was sent to Just host against my will by supergreenhosting. So, the interface looked the same but wow, different service. They outsource their domain registry to PipeDNS and then decided to add domain registry to their hosting panel. Two registery services on one panel. Kinda weird but, I was like they must have reasons. So, I registered a third domain after going thru pipeDNS whom they instructed me to register with. Well, its a week later 5 customer service people two credit card transactions, and no product. I was sent to just hosting billing whom doesn’t have the invoice, logged in, was redirected to another billing service thru supergreenhosting to see that I wasn’t charged. Shell game. I suggested that it be resolved or they will lose my business and they sent me a cancelation notice. A week to register a domain. Would you enter in your passwords with 2 different providers without being consulted on the switch. Big thumbs down on this one. Now, waiting a month for the statement with the hopes my identity wasn’t taken. Talked on the phone with #Justhost this morning and they couldn’t do anything nor had any means of resolution because too many companies were involved. They should be shut down.

This tutorial video will show you how to upgrade this netbook tablet to its full capacity. It originally comes with Windows 7 Starter, which lacks the multi-touch capabilities of its upgraded versions. It will also show a specific type of RAM that is compatible with the system, and how to properly install it. The extra RAM will improve the system’s responsiveness and multitasking capability. I will also tell you the drivers and software needed if you installed a fresh copy of Windows 7. Lastly, I’ll show a netbook sleeve made by HP, which can help protect your hard-earned money by encasing it in a thick, but soft foam material.

IMPORTANT: If you are installing a fresh copy of Windows 7, make sure you use 32bit version and during installation do not delete the ~10GB Hard Drive Partition as this contains the System Recovery files.

I didn’t discuss this item in the video, but my netbook also has a screen protector. Although, I should add that the screen is already anti-glare without the protector and that the included stylus pen will NOT scratch it at all. The screen protector will help prevent scratches from other sources such as finger nail and accidents. Screen protector item details is listed below.

The products shown in this video can bought on Amazon here:

ASUS Eee PC T101MT Netbook-Tablet:

Corsair Memory Memory:

HP NF869AA Mini Notebook Sleeve:

AG2 Anti-Glare Screen Protector for 10.1″ Widescreen Netbooks

I use setfsb and can get the processor to 2ghz plus ram and 7 pro and it is a nice little machine, with some minimal gaming as well.

    Great tutorial! Thanks for posting.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium X86 on mine (from Windows Anytime Upgrade) and added a 'Kingston 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Laptop Memory Model KVR800D2S6/1G'. No probs so far.

An additional 1GB RAM plus CPU overclocking makes T101MT fly! Check out STUWAIN on my channel. ๐Ÿ™‚

Could you remove the link to the Corsair memory? I just bought it and it doesn't work, turns out it's DDR2 800 but the built in memory module is DDR2 667.

Also, in case anyone else has a T101MT-EU37, there doesn't appear to be any boot booster option in the BIOS.

You need to download from ASUS a program called ATK Hotkey,
and to download Microsoft NET Framework 4.
If it stills not work, you have sometimes to install from ASUS the Touch applications program
