Hostgator vs Bluehost – Battle to the DEATH

Blue Host Had my dog appreciation website for at least 4 years, and made a really serious mistake. They changed my account from an automatic renewal to manual and never sent me an E-mail. Then they canceled my account and deleted my website complete with the awards the website had received. And they didn’t keep a backup on file. I’ll choose someone else to host my site. This company is terrible.

Long story short: I recommend Bluehost because Hostgator completely destroyed one of my websites amongst other unsavory things.

Hey I'm new to this kind of thing. I'm currently using bluehost on a basic option. I've expanded my business and want to use a multi-site option. My question is could i just purchase a new package with them for the cheaper rate and transfer my site to the new package instead of upgrading for a much more expensive rate? if thats even possible. OR should i just change my hosting to hostgator? I'm so confused id really appreciate your help!
