How to install WordPress using (Hostgator) cPanel QuickInstall


EIG fault – #hostgator was a top notch hosting company, their support was 5 minutes away, but after EIG acquisition, I can say that was a turning point in the #hostgator history. Rise in prices, many outages, useless support and of course, CPU usage myth. I hope they can fix their issues before going bankrupt. Adrianna


How to install WordPress using Hostgator cPanel QuickInstall. With the new version of quickinstall, as of june 2015.

Annotations:

Log in to your cPanel, and scroll down.
Click ‘QuickInstall’.

Click ‘WordPress’.

Click ‘Install WordPress’. (Use the free option:
WordPress is free software. The other options
are upsells).

Use the drop-down menu to select the domain
you want to install WordPress on.

Leave the next box empty, so you install
WordPress on the root domain.

For Admin Email, enter your current email
address.

For Blog Title, enter the name for your blog
(website). In my case, it’s “Guido’s How-to’s”.
You can change this later.

Fill out a name for the ‘Admin User’. This is the
username for your WordPress administrator
account.

Add the first and last name for this account.

Click ‘Install WordPress’.

Installation complete!

You’ll receive an email on the address you’ve
entered as your Admin Email. Here you’ll find
your login details.

You can click the Admin URL to be taken to the
WordPress login screen.

Use the Username and Password in the email,
and click ‘Log in’.

Done! You have now successfully installed
WordPress, and can start building your website
from here.
