How to Install WordPress with Cpanel | HostGator Quick Install

Horrible experience, horrible company – After cancelling our website because it crashed and they (#hostgator) told myself and my business partner that since they didn’t work with that site-builder anymore, they couldn’t fix it but would gladly sell me something else… five days before a huge sale, with thousands of potential customers. I had never experienced more unprofessional, snotty, snarky people in my life. We cancelled and moved our website, having to rebuild and change ALL our contact information, then three months later, they charged our C.C. again! And refused to refund the money for website that didn’t even exist! I was stunned! Now we’re going into the land of theft and stealing! WORST hosting company ever. Don’t just walk, RUN from #hostgator. We had to even tear up our C.C. to keep them from stealing more. Please, DO NOT give them any information! Unhappy Customer, United States

How to Install WordPress with Cpanel with HostGator Quick Install

Installing WordPress is a simple matter these days, but you still need to go through the steps correctly, and there are also other steps after the WordPress installation to make sure that your website is sound and secure. The first step to install WP in your HostGator cpanel, is to login to your cPanel account of course, then scroll down until you see the Quick Install icon. Then it’s just a matter of following the steps in the video.

A WordPress installation is made so easy using Quick Install, it’s literally 2 steps and you are done. Make sure that you save your user name and password when you install WordPress!

HostGator has made using Fantastico for my WordPress installations a thing of the past– Quick Install seems to be a better option. So far, it is always up-to-date with the latest WP version, while Fantastico is usually a version or so behind. And it has installed WordPress smoothly every time for me, so no problems. And since Quick Install lets you choose your WP-admin user name now, there is no reason to use Fantastico.

Thanks Mike, helps alot. Fantastico isn't on my HostGator. The tech support told me there were issues with Fantastico and it probably won't be made available anymore.

Thanks for the help! Mine didn't go as smoothly in the last bit because it may be propagating so it may take 24-48 hours… (just in case anyone else experiences the same problem). If it doesn't work after that amount of time, you can call HostGator and they will help.

I did all your steps however, I didn't get to the wordpress page.  I was directed to bluehost page because that's where my domain is currently parketd.  I subscribed to hostgator but my domain is with bluehost.  are they going to transfer my domain over for me or is this something I have to do myself?

Why is it that when you do quick install there is a plugin tab, but when I did it there is no plugin tab available? Is that because I was at wordpress. com before transferring to hostgator?

Hello, I've got a question. I did exactly the same as the video but when I click the link for the wordpress login page. It doesn't show the wordpress login page, instead it's a Page Not Found. what's wrong? I bought a hatchling plan, do i need to register a domain and pay again? or it;s included? your help would be much appreciated.

Hi Mike, great tutorial! Unfortunately I am facing the page not found error, I am
Moving from to org with an existing domain I purchased through wordpress. I guess I have to wait a good 48hours or so…

Do you think it may be something else too?
