How to move a WordPress website from localhost to server? – 2017

Jason , USA – This is not the web host/resell service you are looking for. – Customer service is horrendous. I have moved to a different provider. I still have support tickets that are over two months old that cs has responded to but not followed through with. The ticket system is flawed. I moved all of my domains from this provider. Due to ineptness by cs, I still can not log in to the main #Justhost site because my couple month password issue still hasn’t been resolved. Luckily, I can still access cpanel and WHM. Good luck if you are stuck with #Justhost.

This video is a step-by-step tutorial explaining the procedure of moving / migrating / transferring a WordPress website from a local host (like WAMP) to a hosting account (like GoDaddy).

If you run into any problems while migrating your website, feel free to comment! Any feedback or suggestions are welcomed and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I wonder what I did wrong? When I modify the URL on my SQL file, it reverts back to the theme I used but without the changes. If I don't change the SQL but I change the wp-config.php WP_SITEURL & WP_HOME, it works but all the image links go back to the local host on my desktop. No matter what I do, I cant get the images to link properly.

4:21 i don't get one thing here: in the new URL, you can put any website name that you want as a replacement, or are there conditions? because i noticed that you put the name of the database ("demo") first, then stop, then

What was this, a drama, a fucking movie with classic piano score?? What ever it was, it was NO tutorial! You way to "edit" the local database in editor is plain wrong. NEVER manipulate a database like that! Instead edit the CONFIG-file, if you know what it is . . .

A few decades from now people are going to laugh at us of how complicated all of this is. Normal people shouldn't have to do all this manual labor, it should all be done automatically and effortlessly.
