Fleeing #Justhost , California – Scammed – I hosted with them for a year, then decided that I wasn’t thrilled with what I was getting for the price. So I just renewed my domain, but not my hosting agreement. Guess what? Paying $20 for a domain renewal + DNS privacy doesn’t allow you to actually USE your domain, because they won’t give you domain name service if you’re not hosting with them. If you want to USE it, you either have to pay a third party to do name service for you ($30/yr., and a PITA), or else you have to pay to transfer it to a different registrar, i.e. pay to leave. I feel scammed, having been sold something which cannot be used as customers would expect to use it. I can’t recommend them.

Copying a digital file doesn't mean you own it, it is no different than copying Superman Issue #1 or the Mona Lisa, owning the original is what makes it worth something, supply and demand also plays a part. You need the private key to truly own and posses it, you will need this private key to insert your NFT into the metaverse and games which will be where this is all headed.
Don't forget some NFTs provide a function such as a NFT for a game, weapon stats, character stats, property, etc.
Simply copying a NFT will not allow you to use it in an application.

No problem with you going out of your way to be diplomatic as that fits the tone of your channel. But good grief NFTs are cancer. You're effectively buying a receipt. It only means anything so long as the company that actually hosts the digital assent you bought a receipt for both continues to exist and continues to honor the fragile connection between your receipt and their product via the associated link. There are many useful ways to employ a blockchain, but this one is both predatory and a trap for gambling addicts. …No surprise then that the most slimy video game companies are among those most excited about them.

I see one issue with the nft world. While its nice to have the token for something. Im sure there will be legal cases where someone steals a concept image from someone and tokenizes it.
They then sell the token for the art that is not tokenized.I could also see that they would claim that the artist is just holding a copy and don’t have the rights to sell their image.
Sounds easy to prove you are the creator right? Well can you and do you dare to face someone in court that just make 200k on selling your thing, while you have no money to pay if you loose your case?
I might have missed something obvious here that would prevent this, let me know. Just don’t point at the timestamp.

Cryptocurrency is a new way of taking money from the ignorant; everything has been done before. Banks have been replaced with 3rd party untrusted exchanges, NFTs are the scams revolving around the man who sold the Eiffel tower. An NFT is a string of bytes, that is literally all you own. You do not own the original artwork, you own a copy of the artwork which contains your NFT. Yeah, modifying the original file with the NFT actually creates a new file. NFTs advertised as an analogy of owning art, is ludicrous; unlike real world art, digital art can be reproduced 1:1 instantaneously with no barriers whatsoever. The only way to prevent this, is to prevent the art being viewed, defeating the point for many collectors. NFTs are a joke.
