Make a Good MegaMan Level – 1 – junk golem

The Worst ! – #Ipage have what I call reverse technical support. When you contact their team they bash on a keyboard and make your site worse of. Even their one click installs are hit and miss, Not only are the installs out of date and require security updates but the permisions are broken, so that as admin you can’t login to your site. They love to close open support tickets. Not that they have resolved anything but so that you have to go back to the live online help. And they no longer have a ticket system that you can open you have to first go and wait for an hour or so for their live support. H Hermit, Florida

henceforth referred to as MaGMML

0:00 there’s actually a few of these out by now, even
7:51 Objective: Vain Space
9:15 City War
14:53 Level

what if megaman mechanics where treated like mario levels
this is gonna be a wild ride, and with these strange lows will come incredible highs

It's surreal to see both Megaman levels that don't end with a boss fight, as well as raocow playing more than one in a single video.

I already know the judge comments from watching Roahm Mythril play the pre-remastered version.

So as a huge warning, Yggdrasil is a huge, huge sprawling thing. It's its own video, maybe several.

Fun Fact: There's an actual justification for the city being named Mega City that isn't just somebody's quick and dirty fanfiction concept! If you've never heard about the Archie Mega Man comics, then buckle up because a lot of stuff from there ends up getting spliced into the wonderful MAGMML cinematic universe. Basically the major of the city renamed the city after Mega Man both as a show of appreciation as well as a big dank public stunt. Yes, that's a real thing that happened.

I've always felt like Judges comments for contests is a bit of a strange thing… These judges are hardly world-renowned game designers so what right do they have to give critique? Especially if they're going to be non-constructive with their criticisms, it's like "who the hell are you?"

I don't know if I would recommend avoiding boss abilities entirely. That works fine in regular MegaMan games because to some degree they're designed for you to be able to do that. In a contest like this you never know what the author intended and you could end up making your life absolutely miserable trying to buster your way through something the author intended you to use an ability for. At the very least I think it would be good to keep the abilities in mind.

i'll never get over how like, kinda prolific this game got considering i actually made a level for it (wound up ranking kinda poorly. uhhhh mild caution: i explicitly presumed use of special weapons, cause i heard they'd all be unlocked from the start and figured I may as well make a level expecting you to use them lots)

This game is now part of All the Mega Men.
Death count: 6 (Objective: Vain Space: 1, City War: 5)
Automatic level count: 1, Objective: Vain Space.
(1:38) Ooh, remastered. That's how you know this game isn't just be held together with paper clips and bubblegum.
(2:00) Would Damage Pop-up cause a number to appear whenever you or the enemies take a hit?
(2:08) Yeah, we don't want to have to worry about Game Overs here.
(2:55) 24 is the magic number, just like with Debased Coins in Final Fantasy XV.
(3:03) Dr. Wily probably wants to use them for Expericast magic. 😛
(3:36) Ooh, you start with the Awesome Metal Blade!
(4:54) I think Top Spin is buffed in Mega Man Maker.
(5:27) Better not let Rush hear you say that, Mega Man.
(6:58) Yeah, I noticed that the Metal Blade wasn't piercing like the Gemini Laser was.
(7:55) First death of this adventure, but what are you supposed to do there?
(8:04) So, the screen transition only works if you don't move? I call shenanigans.
(8:18) Well, I guess this is technically an automatic level! Also, Spinny Boy for Smash! 😛
(8:34) The judges' comments are gonna be the real stars of the show, apparently.
(8:57) Ah, just like the goal spheres placed in certain VLDC9 levels, I think.
(9:23) Uh, oh! Cutoff! This hack won't be accepted at SMW Central!
(9:27) Don't forget you have Rush available. Levels can and will probably expect you to make use of your given abilities.
(9:29) Or, there could be invisible tiles that you can stand on, for some reason.
(9:43) Huh, it really looked like you were gonna make it there.
(9:53) I notice your weapon energy isn't refilled upon dying, so if a level requires you to use something, but doesn't provide a way to fill up, it might be possible to end up in an unwinnable situation.
(10:07) At least you have a built-in Energy Balancer.
(10:08) Whoa, what? A fake floor leading to death? Well, that's not cool.
(10:37) I want pizza to go! At least this aesthetic is neat (aside from the BG cutoff).
(11:14) Ugh, the fake floors really ruin this level.
(11:51) Really should've stopped to get that health back at 11:33.
(12:01) Unlike the 3D Sonics, I'm not going to consider the Retry option to be a death here, mainly because you disabled the lives system.
(12:15) It is unfortunate that you have to exit the level entirely to get all your weapons refilled that way.
(13:24) LOL, so Rush Jet can ferry enemies in this game too, apparently!
(13:40) Bolts? Is there a shop in this game or something?
(13:58) Thank goodness for that invisible block!
(14:27) How is the player supposed to even know that there are invisible ladders?
(14:44) Hey, I never threatened Toad Man! 😛
(16:08) Alright, time for our first boss battle of this adventure! (16:08) Or not…
(16:27) Whoops! You kinda can't forget to put in a way for the player to clear the level.
That last level wasn't too terrible. Would've been nice if it actually ended with a boss though.

As weird as these first few levels are, this game gives me a really good feeling. Not sure if I can properly articulate it, but something about the whole experience is very comfy, and seems like it's gonna be great

For a non-Remastered playthrough of maGMML, I highly recommend RoahmMythril's old LP of the game.

Otherwise, if you want it to look better and shinier, watch the cow of rao play through it now.

This looks like a Mega Man version of SMBX and it feels weird to see something like that, I'm so used to the regular games having no hub area or anything like that, I actually like this though, reminds me of ZX with all the NPCs there.

    Oh yeah, fun fact!

I'm fairly sure that in the original MaGMML, Guts Man was the only one in the attic on a fresh save file. Therefore, as noted by Roahm long ago, Guts Man is the only cool robot.
