BazgrimTV is where relaxation meets constant self-improvement through MMORPG’s. With nearly two decades of extensive gaming experience and a degree in Psychology, Bazgrim provides insight into what makes games fun, how to excel in them, and more importantly, how lessons learned while gaming can be applied to real life.
He brings this unique perspective to Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, an immersive, challenging, and community-oriented #MMORPG by Visionary Realms. Bazgrim quickly became a leading source of information about the game since early 2016, and in October 2017, became the first fan to ever play #PantheonMMO. In August 2018, he launched the BazgrimTV Twitch channel, where he became the first person to stream live gameplay of Pantheon without a developer. Ever since then, he has continued to share his adventures and extensive knowledge of the game with fans from around the globe!

Posted at 12:38h, 09 JanuaryThe animations, sounds, magic effects, also the animations of the animals, pets etc. have to appear and be very realistic, dynamic and powerful when punched and buttery smooth.
If that is not there and looks too wooden and dull, then half of the potential players will be lost if they watch 3-4 videos about the game, on the grounds that they would have considered it ok from 10-12 years ..
Take a look at World of Warcraft animations .. they look buttery soft, dynamic and simply round. Running animation of the cats is 1A, flying creatures are clean and softly animated.
Blizz knows that this is very important and even brings patches in the middle of the add-ons that have the animation and skins revised.
The sound effects can still sound hollow and tinny. They have to match the styles and spells and buffs etc. properly and improve the mood significantly.
Of course, it must never be too colorful and too fast.
However, weak animations etc. will scare off a lot of people.
NPCs shouldn't just be cones either. They also need the animations, talents and properly programmed usable AI.
So that's a feature in games today that simply reflect time. Those who weaken here don't have such good cards ..
I'm looking forward to the Pantheon and hope you get a really good MMORPG again. I have e.g. DAoC very much liked in the PvE part and wish me again a world that I really play on and then meet people here and there and we spend some time together etc. as it was in DAoC ..

Posted at 16:27h, 09 JanuaryKickstarters were the biggest scam of the decade. Ya'll have been employing people to string you along for years lol. No amount of dynamic lighting and polish will change something that is garbage at its core. These guys are preying on the fact you guys want EQ so bad. Its artful how lucrative hyping up hopes and dreams are.

Posted at 05:56h, 19 JanuaryCharacter animation is horrible. It's too stuff and when he walks it looks too 'puppet-like'. I don't get why McQuad sucks at figuring out character animation. Even when standing they hardly have movement. Characters move like they're 90 years old while games today have a 20 year old animation. WTF ?! How can they not see this ?

Posted at 23:24h, 02 FebruaryFor some reason "unique class resources" to me, always make the classes boring to play and essentially gimmicky. Mana/stamina sure is generic but at least it doesn't box you into a build/spend style combat that we've come to like for some classes(rogue…actually probably only rogue imo). But not all.
I just don't like the build/spend style of game play. I prefer worrying about mechanics, interrupting and CC. Rather than am I effectively constantly building and spending my resources. And that's not to say I don't like to manage my resources. I'm a hyper efficient mana spender. Just that the build/spend style puts you in situations where you literally have a 100% wasted "generator" if you use it at full resource but using the generator at that moment is a better decision or spending the resource is just unnecessary or huge overkill IDK there are dozens of scenarios for this.
So it tends to become thoughtless spending of the resource to prevent capping, just to be efficient. Very different than deciding how to be efficient. I view it as a skill floor/ceiling kind of thing.

Posted at 11:00h, 06 February@BazgrimTV lets be serious here, is this anything else than just another generic tab-targetted MMO? I watched the stream and found nothing else than utterly boring and lazy attempt to make another WoW clone, got even stronger feeling when seeing these item icons inspired by WoW items. The lie about "we're add layers of more interesting mechanics to combat" will result only in adding indicators when mobs do the large attack, because thats what all generic tab-targeted mmo's do. In the last few years, the only games that tried to do something interesting and actually released were GW2, Black Desert, Legends of Aria which is UO remastered (and that's a good thing) and archeage (to a point) but there we have a choice of either Pay2Win version or a version of the game where the company doesn't control the code for the game.
Is there anything interesting about the game you really hope for or you just enjoy playing these WoW clones over and over?

Posted at 16:33h, 06 FebruaryI played everquest 1 for the first time ever in 2014 on p99 server and while it might sound boring to fight 1v1 mobs for 1 min each, with mostly autoattack, it was still one of the most exciting combat systems I've experienced in mmorpgs. So how the fuck did that happen? keyword: consequences. What made eq1 combat thrilling for me was not caused by just a single mechanic but a very specific list of mechanics:
– neverdropping aggro (this was an absolute key factor)
– absolutely deadly roaming encounters in like every zone. (elite mobs 10+ levels higher, another key factor because it makes you constantly look for what's happening around you)
– xp penalty on death, including de-leveling
– corpseruns to get your gear back

Posted at 13:43h, 11 FebruaryI’m a big fan of “cool” and smooth attack/cast/spell animations that this got me even more hyped. I feel like MMO’s without Action-based combat need simple things like this to keep them more interesting, definitely a plus for me.

Posted at 04:37h, 14 FebruaryIt's fun watching "indie devs" constantly try to reinvent gameplay mechanics that were perfected by a game that launched in 2004.

Posted at 08:07h, 20 Marchdisappointing to me, looks like a dressed up EQ1…in this day and age and engines available they should be ashamed, the hardware we have today can handle so much more then we could in the past, why does a brand new game look old? EQ2 looks better then this…also combat looks like you are chopping wood, combat system looks very simple…cycle through 5 combats? The AA tree's in EQ2 are amazing you guys should steal some of what is going on there! i know this isnt EQ1-2 but just what i compare MMO's to there is a reason i have played it since 2004..complex combat system, complex AA tree's. combat action looks nice for how old it is, raiding is hard!
whats with the run speed? you guys need to speed that up, take an hour just to run across the map, people wont like that…we want to spend our time actually getting stuff done, not taking walk through the country lol

Posted at 08:18h, 26 MarchAnimations look insanely stiff, movement seems slow. Movement should have no acceleration programmed in in mmo's. The moment you input forward you should be at the max move speed value.

Posted at 20:43h, 26 Marchlol @ these fanboys trying to hype up a clearly shit combat system. Looks about as bland and impactful as warhammer onlines combat system. Infact the animations actually look alot worse. The combat still looks the same as it did 2 years ago… Its the same old niche mmo story, funds start to run out and the devs are forced to release a barely half finished game and its dead with 6 months.

Posted at 15:43h, 06 AprilDamn. This is actually very awesome. I just got too absorbes with Ashes of Creation that I didn't give much effort to discovering this game but looking at this, damn it's actually very exciting. Making playing with friends more exciting and awesome, dynamic combat style, and the thing where freaking blinding spells and too much effects and animation are flying around (god I hate that. It would be good if it would be classic like this and meaningful). But I think it is still flawed, looking at its attacking animation, it doesn't have too much impact.. and also there should be battle stance (animation) perhaps to make it more amusing and impactful.

Posted at 12:30h, 15 Aprilthis game looks better than ever! i'm so glad it hasn't just failed in development 🙂 it looks more promising than ever!
i know it just takes so much time to make games doesn't it 😀
i hope they get the itemization/drops correct and do something more interesting (and varied) than usual mmo item itemization/drop fare
also, on combat: i think AoE is a good option for many skills, melee is more ok for 1+1 upfront daggerswinging ./or whatever/magic/range has its own unique qualities(also depends on the wep selected) animations can be added…
but Aoe is a good method for combat, even in Pve, but in pve you should use smaller AoE circles, because the mobs are less likely to dodge them, or it would be much too easy

Posted at 06:24h, 01 JuneI'm late to the train but I'm loving the progress they're doing! I'm eating up all the videos I can find on this game! I notice a lot of people complaining about the animations but I think they look fine for now, not every movement has to be lightning fast. Do people even realize what it takes to create a game nowadays? It's a lot of work and I feel a lot of gamers nowadays are kind of whiners lol. Then again, i'm sure people could come back and say I'm whining about the whiners.

Posted at 10:12h, 09 JulyI didn’t play EQ/EQ2 on the pc.. but I played EQOA on the ps2 and it was an mmo that was way ahead of its time.. it was amazing how depth the character creation and uniqueness was. I’ve yet to come across an mmo that rivals it. This game has the simplistic battle system as eqoa did but it wasn’t about the graphics.. it was the gameplay and the community that the game built that really made me stick with the game until it was shut down.

Posted at 23:08h, 09 SeptemberMcQauid just needs to stop trying to make games. Or he needs to hire better co-devs because this game looks like a polished piece of shit from 2003. And by polished I am simply referring to updated engine which actually looks 4-5 years old as of this video. The rest of what I am seeing just looks like we will need copious amounts of ritalin or adderall to have any interest in this game.. It just looks so boring. This game would have been awesome in 2003… 17 years later, not so much.. I don't care how bad the mmo drought is. This doesn't look appealing and I wouldn't be surprised if after 2 months of its launch there is less than 10k people playing it.
