Q&A Part One | Teaching, More Kids, Chores | Shamsa

month. IT NEVER WORKED. – I could not access CPanel and they asked me to verify myself by sending my credit card scan my photo ID – They asked me to explain why I signed up from one place and my registered address is another – The took 2 days, to get a reply “we have activated your account, it might take 5-10 minutes”, guess what, they did not do it. – Took me another 24 hours and still nothing, I called them (45 minute queue on the phone), they activated my account – I uploaded the website, couldn’t even get a single test HTML file to work at all. The chat support agent who couldn’t figure out whats wrong and logged a ticket for me – The ticket totally got abandoned for 2 days – I called and they suggest cancelling the account and recreate it – They said cancelling may take 72 hours, they will charge me for recreating it before considering refund request I HAVE HAD ENOUGH ! Sweekrith

Q&A Part One, where I answer a few of your burning questions lol.

A child that did all the chores without being asked to? Instructed? Whoaaaaaa, that must've been lovely surprise :> hehehe But I agree that it's an Asian mentality too sometimes. That "boys don't have to do any of the chores" mentality. But really I am glad that your husband gets on their case to do their chores and help out. None of this "boys stay out of the kitchen" notion ! You and your husband make a good team hehehe

I have boys only & I'm like your husband in thinking they should learn to do household chores. Their dad is next to useless but I want my boys to know the basics . It's a benefit for themselves as well as for me. But teaching them is difficult as they don't want to learn & we're all not patient enough with each other. I suppose it's a work in progress.

I currently only have 1 son. He’s a blessing. I love him to bits. I am longing for another baby so my son has a sibling. Wouldn’t want him to feel lonely. I had many complications and still suffering after the delivery with heart conditions.
I pray you are blessed with a daughter. May your desires be fulfilled <3

I know what you mean but I feel that deep down it’s because we love taking care of the kids and even as they approach their teenage years they’re still our babies lol

Your future daughters in law will thank you! My son (who's now 28) started doing his own laundry at about 9 yrs of age. As soon as he could reach the controls on our top loading washing machine it became his responsibility. He was responsible for keeping his room proper clean and getting the bins and recyclables out on pick-up day. He had to help in the vegetable garden and yard. He watched and helped me in the kitchen and is a good cook. His spouse actually thanked me for training him up so well in household chores and cooking and she feels really spoiled. Now he's setting a good example for his 3 yr old stepson (who's the light of my life along with my own granddaughter who's 3 months old this week!).

    Salaam Shamsa,
Trust me it's not only in Asian families- unfortunately in lots of other muslim backgrounds and more like any other traditional families..(christian, jewish, hindu..)few decades ago this was a normal thing in Europe and it is still in some places. Which is sad..I especially find it disturbing when there are brothers and sisters, the girls have to help their mum in all housework from like age 6-8, and expected to be tidy, and even do things instead of their brothers. Allah gave us women hands just like gave men hands so why not do the same chores(when its not like wife – husband case where husband works long hours and wife does the housework. If wife works too then ideally should share chores with husband).

I just discovered your channels. I've been binge watching your vlogs. You have a lovely personality. Don't handicap your children by nor making them do chores. Most people don't like doing chores. However, like cooking, chores are a life skill that must be learned.
