RCT2 Reviews Inside Look: Cook County Fair by hydroporal, Raunchy Russell, and BarnNID

Unhappy Customer , NU – Don’t use them – They have the worst support ever!

We have a special Inside Look today as we’re joined by both hydroportal and BarnNID as we take a look at Cook County Fair. This park came out in May of this year and is easily the best fairground type park we’ve seen in the game. The detail level and realism is pretty incredible and as you’ll hear from the guys- there was quite a lot of research and thought put into the park. Come along for this review and then download the park to see it for yourself!

This park is built in OpenRCT2, an open source version of Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 that allows additional features beyond the base game. Download the park here:

The level of detail was outstanding – I loved the flume and Reverchon mouse. I do think the wacky worm/dragon wagon threw off my sense of scale more than I wish and it's a shame they didn't go for that large Schwarzkopf (even though I'm not sure there are any Schwarzkopfs (sans a few surviving Wildcats) on American traveling shows)

Thank you so much for having us Brian!! Was so great to look back on this park as it sort of got overlooked in the sea of H2H. have fun while you build guys! It is so important. Stay true to your heart. -Hydroportal

This is awesome, not a big user of custom scenery like this but there's some amazing stuff here. Great to hear from the creators and the idea of sketching the park out on paper first. Fantastic!

I love this park so much – but sadly it makes me very sad about the on hiatus Planet Coaster series Broville Funfair. Seeing the detail you could attain for a fair park in Planco was amazing – but it hasn't had a new installment in a long, long time – far too common with Planco these days…
