The Web Hosting Conspiracy Revealed… What You Must Know Before Choosing Your Web Hosting Company

Really, a bad service. Just left a bad taste in my mouth – I purchased a package a year ago for a project that did not materialize. I noticed the recurring billing on my card a few months later and called to close the account. This month I noticed the annual domain charge and another one a day later. I called again and was told I didn’t respond to an e-mail after my earlier call so the annual recurring charging is still active. I asked to close it again, done. I asked if they’d refund these new charges, “No”. I asked “Are you sure you don’t want to refund my $25?” “No” And here’s my review. :). Daniel, Miami

My recommended WordPress Hosting is A2 (Affiliate link):

The Web Hosting Conspiracy Revealed… What You Must Know Before Choosing Your Web Hosting Company.

There are a couple shady corporations buying up all of the ‘quality’ web hosting companies and pillaging their services, their support for profit.

Even worse, they are paying big-name affiliates HUGE commissions to deliver more new customers.

As long as they get more new customers every month compared to the number of people leaving because of downtime and crappy service, they are ok with it.

This leaves you playing Russian roulette with your hosting and your online business if you choose the wrong web host.

Miles, thank you very, very, very much for your recommendation of A2 Hosting. These guys are awesome, my website was down for NINE DAYS, going back and forth with my old web hosting company, pertaining to my EPP code. Remembering that I saw a video with you only a couple of weeks before, I went back and watch you on YouTube again, and right away sighed up with them. I could not believe Miles, I called them shortly after 9 a.m. later that very evening, everything went through. MILES, THEY ARE AWESOME!! I was so frustrated and miserable because my site was down, and having my VA waiting for the site to come back up.
    Again, thank you very much.

Hearing what EIG does to ruin buyouts is amazing. It is shameful that Pat Flynn sells out his brand by selling EIG hosts. It makes me so angry. What kills me is that his followers buy into that lie. I can vouch for how good Host Gator was before the buyout. They were so great. I found a damn good host that is also pretty small. If this host gets bought out by EIG I'm OUT. In reguards to HTTPS EVERY site should have one. It makes Google happy and you'll get better respect/rank.

Great knowledge, Miles. I'm totally new to this and became overloaded with info when researching where I should host my ecommerce Wix-based website… so I'm glad I found your video. Questions: I built my site using Wix and am now looking where to host it… you're recommending the most basic hosting option (LITE)… the A2 site shows it includes Free SSL & SSD… so I guess it's no longer an add-on… correct? Do I need to buy anything else for WordPress? Thank u!

I see this video is over a year old now. I’m in the process of moving from iPage in the next week. I’ve been recommended SiteGround “Grow Big”plan but I’m already using over 13 gigs on iPage. I have a media site with a lot of jpegs, MP3’s and YouTube videos embedded. Which is better? Ohh and A2 told me they have a 20gig cap on their plan as well for shared hosting. Siteground or A2?

I am using Hostgator for almost 10 years now. Based on my experience, I haven't had any downtimes with them (very important). The customer support is good too. Well, that is per my experience. I am a web developer and I am a Top Contractor in upwork for 5 years. I have a lot of experiences with hosting, however, I didn't find A2 hosting that special. I had a client with VPS hosting with A2, however my experience with it is not better than my experience with hostgator. I used Thrive Architech with A2 VPS hosting and for some reason it makes the VPS memory to a peak and eventually stop responding. I haven't had that experience with hostgator shared hosting, running with Thrive Theme. Well, that is based on my experience alone.

GoDaddy is awful. I hated the fact that they would call after every change or update. Like hello. I often work at 3 am – and they would call!

I have been with ix Web Hosting for the last 10 years (at least.) They were not the best and actually quite expensive (now that I've started looking around), but they've been at least providing acceptable support service and my sites were always up (as far as I know.) In other words, I was satisfied enough.

Recently, ixWH was bought out by Site5 (one of EIG's companies). I had never heard of Site5 before. All I know now, from my recent experience having my sites migrated from ixWH to Site5, Site5 SUCKS big time! My new sites are inaccessible intermittently. They recently eliminated phone support. Their online chat support did not work one weekend night. Long wait time for a chat support rep to be available during peak time (about an hour.) Now, none of my sites are up; my email accounts are down too!

I got fed up and started shopping around for a new host (hence came to this vid.)

Like you said, +Miles Beckler, migrating the stuff is such a pain … there is not just web files but also databases. HostGator offers free migration, but Blue Host charges ~$150 to do it for you (and I think only up to 5 sites.)

Do you know whether A2 is doing migration as a paid or free service?

I just sign up with Hostgator. So far they are really helpful. I understand what you are talking about. But at this moment, it's kind of hard to switch around since I just bought their package. But thank you for your video.

Hello, I had the same problem that Extraordinary Living had. (I tried hitting the like button on her post from not sure if it went through) In either case, I was with IX Webb osting for about two years only to discover that they were bought out by another company, no longer exist and Site five, their replacement company, sucks big-time! I’ve been shopping around for a new web hosting company and this is how I stumbled upon your video. You mentioned a two and another company called One and One. Could you please provide links for perhaps any package deals of any offer? I’m trying to start a very small one woman show e-commerce site and I was thinking that a virtual private server might be sufficient but it seems that I may have to do a dedicated server. I don’t really have the money for that right now and was thinking of UPS might suffice. Please share any links or suggestions you may have. Thank you so much!

I understand what you're saying and will probably shift to A2 soon. But from my experience, been with hostgator for a couple of years, their customers support is SUPER FAST and Helpful. They solve all problems very fast. The thing I'm worried about a bit is website speed and overload, which I feel are not that good. I am moving a dropshipping site with around 1000 products to wordpress; how do I know which plan I will need at A2hosting? Shared or another.. what would be the major factor to look at?
