Transfer Domain Name – Step By Step DETAILED Walkthrough & Instructions

Feel cheated – I signed up for #Ipage’s introductory rate of $39.95 a year for two years. At the end, of the term #Ipage renewed my website without notification for three years at $495.00!! When I called to complain that I had not received notification they said they sent an email, but I NEVER received. When I asked for my money back they offered to reduce my rate to $280.00 for three years and would refund my money. After a week of no credit, I called them and they said they put a “store credit” on my account for the difference. I told them they said they would refund the money, but according to the representative they do not refund money no matter what! #Ipage is a SCAM. STAY AWAY!!! Charlene Bocek

There are many reasons to transfer a domain name and a few ways to get it done. This video goes step by step in showing how to transfer a domain name FROM Enom to GODADDY. The process will be a little different depending on what registrars you’re using but the overall process is standardized by ICANN rules so it will be similar.

@Ryan i have a question, i have renewed my domains in GoDaddy and now i wanted to transfer it to a new registrar. So when i want to make an order transfer on the new registrar, it ask for a renewal(1 year) fee. So meaning the renewal fee that i've paid at GoDaddy cant be transferred to the new registrar is it? if yes, i just wasted a lot of money renewing it. Please do help clarify this.

    Incredibly well done video!
Hoping you can advise on my situation. I've got a domain for sale (my first). How is this information applied when transferring my domain to a new owner? It is currently at 123cheapdomains (a reseller for Tucows). There's no info that I can find in my domain management for transferring out (plenty on transferring in from another registrar). At this point I don't know if a buyer will choose to keep the domain where it is or have it transferred. Either way, I'm trying to prepare myself for those steps.

Thanks for the great video. I found it very easy to follow.

i was late to transfer – you have to transfer 30days before the expiry date of the domain- in my case i had renew the domain with same registrar at 19.9 USD 🙁 I didn't have much choice.

Checked the video and it made it easier to change over domain, One quick question, do you get to keep the original emails? Or do you need to start again? Where does the email go once you leave the domain (i'm with vistaprint). Many Thanks
